Re: Recent Polling Results

The results of our recent poll of likely general election voters in Hawaii show that Congresswoman Mazie Hirono
holds a double-digit lead over former Governor Linda Lingle and is well positioned to win in November.
Hirono Supported By the Majority of Voters
Hirono holds an 11% lead over Lingle in the race for U.S. Senate. She receives a majority of the vote (51%),
while Lingle receives 40%, 2% volunteer another candidate, and 7% are undecided. When we push undecideds,
Hirono's lead increases to 12. Hirono also leads among both genders. 5+ of women vote for her, giving her a
19% advantage over Lingle. Among men, Hirono leads by 3%.

Voters Trust Hirono To Stand Up For The Middle Class

This memo covers the results of our research: 800 interviews with likely 2012 general election voters in Hawaii.
All participants were registered to vote, had voted in the 2008 or 2010 general election or registered after the
2010 election, and were screened to ensure they are likely to vote in the 2012 election. The interviews were
conducted June 19-21, 2012, with live callers. The margin of error is 3.46%. BSG's clients include Senator Jeff
Merkley (OR), Governor Tim Kaine (VA), Senator Chris Coons (DE) and Senator Jim Webb (VA). Peter Brodnitz,
who conducted this survey, was named Pollster of the Year" by the American Association of Political Consultants
in 2007.
